NASA has issued a presolicitation to seek approaches to the development of integrated human lunar landers, Spacenews reported Sunday.

The agency plans to award up to two one-year contracts in line with the construction of two-man landers for a scheduled demonstration mission to the moon by 2024. NASA will then reuse the landers to accommodate the Artemis 3 lunar mission.

In addition, NASA may also exercise an option to proceed with the construction and demonstration of a partially reusable lander platform that will allow longer human missions on the moon’s surface by 2026. The agency tapped 11 contractors in May for the creation of drafts for lander transfer and descent stages.

Interested vendors may submit their responses to the notice until Aug. 2, according to a FedBizOpps notice.
