Jacobs Gets State Dept Contract for Green Building Systems Commissioning Support

Jacobs Engineering has won a potential five-year, $25M contract to provide commissioning services to the Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations.

The company said Tuesday that under the contract, which has one base period and four option years each valued at $5M, it offer engineering expertise to help OBO understand building system requirements, address issues and observe energy efficiency.

Work will also support the U.S. Green Building Council’s certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program that provides standards for environmentally-friendly buildings.

“Efficiently operating U.S. Department of State embassies, consulates and missions around the world shows appreciation for host countries and their resources,” said Pankaj Duggal, senior vice president and general manager for buildings, infrastructure and advanced facilities at Jacobs.
