Google has partnered with multiple organizations to support the business goals of veterans, military families and transitioning servicemen.
The company has joined Patriot Boot Camp, Bunker Labs and Veteran Capital in efforts to help veterans pursue business careers, Lisa Gevelber, vice president for Google’s startup support program, wrote in a blog entry posted Tuesday.
One fourth of 250K transitioning servicemen have expressed interest in starting a business. This will add to the existing 2.5M veteran-owned businesses in the country, the blog noted.
Google’s partnership with Bunker Labs will expand veteran entrepreneurship programs in Raleigh, N.C. and Atlanta. Additionally, veteran-owned startups supported by Patriot Labs will gain access to Google-based advisors for product expertise.
Lastly, Google will work with Veteran Capital to help veterans as well as spouses of service members secure spots at tech startup fellowships. The partnership will also hold workshops on sales skills, best practices and resume making.
