The Federal Aviation Administration has released a market survey to gather landing data in order to develop a machine learning algorithm for aircraft brake failure, Nextgov reported Tuesday.
FAA requires at least two-years of data on raw aircraft specifications, braking friction calculations and external weather factors to predict brake failure occurrences during flights.
The agency’s William J. Hughes Technical Center Airport Technology Research and Development division is preparing this predictive approach.
Interested airlines and airplane operators may submit responses through Aug. 5.
