The Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center seeks sources on software platforms that will work to pinpoint infrastructure and people affected by floods through the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence methods, GCN reported Wednesday.

JAIC aims to develop an AI tool that will equip disaster response officials with real-time situational awareness capacities to augment decision-making and analysis functions.

The platform is required to annotate datasets, integrate with government tools, track performance rates and handle AI test and training data. Additionally, JAIC envisions the tool to develop models of potential relief effort effects and damaged infrastructure and include a user interface for model refining.

Interested vendors may submit their proposals to the project through July 22. JAIC will assess the submissions based on their responsiveness and methodologies in transitioning to a production environment.
