The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency selected more international and multidisciplinary teams which will compete for $500K in prizes by modifying DARPA robots models and sensors for the “virtual†circuit of the agency’s Subterranean Challenge.
Participants will compete for the prize money by incorporating their algorithm and software codes into DARPA’s repository of robot models and sensors, which will be tested through a simulated environment in identifying artifacts to gain points, the agency said Tuesday.
DARPA first announced the teams chosen for the SubT Challenge’s physical and virtual tunnel increments in May and will select additional participants until Aug. 1. The challenge will take place Aug. 15-22.
