CenturyLink has unveiled an emergency call handling service that will allow public safety customers to transfer their call management offerings to the cloud.
The Managed Emergency Call Handling service is developed to help public safety providers update their platforms in real-time without the need for new equipment, the company said Tuesday.
CenturyLink noted that the service may be added in a future 911 offering and will allow customers to retain usage of their call management systems.
“As more communities move to next-generation 9-1-1, they may need to maintain legacy environments while implementing new technologies,†said Thuy Ha, vice president of voice and real-time communications at CenturyLink.
“CenturyLink brings years of expertise to assist public safety organizations through the migration process,†Ha added.
