Geetika Tandon, a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, has said that organizations need to restructure their operations and information technology ecosystems to accommodate rapidly evolving artificial intelligence technology.
Tandon wrote in a Nextgov piece published Friday that organization heads must be able to facilitate training and retraining activities to refine the skills of their workforce to handle multiple tasks spanning technology development, operational and testing functions.
She added that deploying DevOps, automation and continuous development are “key to operations of the future†and enable personnel to have more time for addressing inefficiencies and mission objectives. Implementing AI in operations can also result in “self-healing†systems that can facilitate end-to-end performance management.
“Technological disruptions are touching every facet of our organizations. As we architect the agencies of the future, we need to make sure that we do not ignore the group that keeps the lights on,†Tandon noted.
