Amazon Web Services partnered with the state of Virginia and U.S. Marine Corps to develop education programs that will help refine military and civilian skills in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud, data analytics and machine learning.
Marines may enroll and complete 31 course credits at the Northern Virginia Community College as part of the AWS Educate program which will include new cloud, AI and machine learning courses designed to satisfy the knowledge, skills and abilities requirements for military occupational specialties, AWS said Wednesday.
Participants may also access Amazon tools throughout the program ahead of achieving a NOVA Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Systems Technology as well as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification.
In addition, AWS launched an expanded training program called U.S. Cyber Range of Virginia Tech which broadens the scope of the Virginia Cyber Range skills refinement initiative to include cybersecurity education.
The expanded offering was created to provide a hands-on environment to students, educators and private sector employees across the country who are seeking cybersecurity education for training and certification purposes.
Under the AWS Educate program, the new NOVA courses will be launched in fall 2019 while the U.S. Cyber Range is currently underway.
