The Defense Security Service has chosen Vertex Aerospace as one of the 51 recipients of the 2019 James S. Cogswell Industrial Security Achievement Award.
DSS recognizes cleared defense contractors that have demonstrated excellence in implementing and maintaining security practices at their facilities, Vertex said Thursday.
The company maintains a counter-intelligence system in efforts to connect and share information with the FBI and DSS.
"The safety of our customers, employees and their data has always been our top priority," said Ed Boyington, president and CEO at Vertex.
DSS evaluated 13K contractors as part of its process for selecting this year's awardees.
