The Defense Security Service has recognized three divisions of L3 Technologies for using security measures to handle classified information.
L3 Communication Systems-West, ForceX and Sonoma EO received the agency's 2019 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Security Achievement Awards, the company said Friday.
The units were among the 51 recipients DSS selected from 13K cleared facilities in the defense contracting space.
“Across L3, we continually emphasize the importance of our security processes in all aspects of our business and the Cogswell Award is the highest recognition of these efforts,†said Christopher Kubasik, chairman, president and CEO of L3 and a 2019 Wash100 winner.
A national review team assessed nominees based on efforts to meet National Industrial Security Program standards and demonstrate leadership in security best practices.
The company said it has received 29 Cogswell Awards over the past 15 years.
