Maxar Technologies booked multiple government contracts worth more than $95M during the first quarter to provide Earth intelligence services to several federal civilian and military clients.
The company said Monday it will provide the U.S. Air Force with a testbed for the operational integration of automated intelligence and machine learning tools under a potential $70M contract.
Maxar will also help U.S. Special Operations Command process huge amounts of geospatial data to generate insight via machine learning, software engineering and other approaches through a five-year, $6M contract.
Under a $7M award from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the company will update technology platforms used to support change detection and land cover and classification tasks.
Tony Frazier, executive vice president of global field operations at Maxar and a 2019 Wash100 winner, said the contract awards reflect the firm’s commitment to help address national security requirements with the use of technology.
Frazier added the company offers products and services in the areas of spacecraft manufacturing and robotics, electro-optical and radar satellite imagery, artificial intelligence and geospatial machine learning.
