Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory has helped develop a scorecard designed to validate digital health applications and related platforms.
JHU APL said Tuesday it teamed up with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and School of Medicine to come up with the Digital Health Scorecard.
The proposed framework would assess digital health products based on usability, cost, clinical and technical performance and provide ratings across the four domains.
The researchers said the scorecard is a combination of the Consumer Reports and UL and “proactively defines requirements and standards for digital health products; transparently discloses them; and objectively evaluates and reports to industry and the public.â€
The researchers discussed the scorecard in an article published in May in the Nature Research Journal npj Digital Medicine and plan to conduct a small pilot study to implement the framework.
