InstantEye Robotics has released variants of its Mk-3 small unmanned aerial system with new payload, endurance and range capacities.
Mk-3 GEN4-D1 has recorded a flight time of more than 50 minutes during a demonstration and has an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance configuration that supports close area target reconnaissance or tactical standoff payloads, The Massachusetts-based company said Thursday.
The GEN5 system features a new battery configuration and thermal and electo-optical technology similar to that of GEN4D. It flew at a range of 2.79 miles during the Naval Postgraduate School's Joint Interagency Field Experimentation.
In addition, GEN5 demonstrated a flight endurance time of 27 minutes and a capacity to soar up to 6K feet with a new battery configuration.
The company also developed a heavy-lift variant of the GEN4-D1 platform, which carried a 3-pound explosive charge during a recent test.
