Bechtel and Deep Isolation have entered into a cooperate agreement to further develop, sell and deploy the latter's technology platform designed to help government and industrial customers dispose of nuclear waste.
Deep Isolation said Monday it seeks to help Bechtel conduct cleanup efforts at government facilities nationwide or support decommissioning projects at domestic and international nuclear power plants.
The partnership aims to implement a technical approach for disposing of used commercial nuclear fuel products or high-level waste.
As part of the agreement, Deep Isolation will receive project management, engineering and financial and business support services from Bechtel for the former's global sales initiatives.
Both companies also want to offer a horizontal drillhole disposal platform in the global market.
