Promod Sharma, CEO at Criterion Systems, has received an award from Ernst & Young recognizing his entrepreneurial efforts in the cybersecurity industry.

EY honored Sharma as “Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019” for cybersecurity in the Mid-Atlantic region, Criterion said Friday. The award recognizes achievements in multiple areas of entrepreneurship including innovation, business dedication and financial performance.

He received the award at an event in Washington, D.C., after his selection by a panel of judges.

“I would like to thank the people who have supported me in this journey, especially our dedicated employees who believe in our customers’ missions and do their utmost to help them succeed,” he said.

Sharma’s award qualifies him as a candidate for EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year 2019 National Awards. EY will announce national winners in Palm Springs, Calif., on November 16.
