Shaun Bierweiler, vice president and general manager of the public sector business at Cloudera, wrote in an opinion piece published Tuesday on Federal Times that an enterprise data cloud platform could help federal agencies address the challenges of information technology modernization.
He cited some of the benefits of an enterprise data cloud and one is the platform’s capability to provide agencies complete visibility throughout the data lifecycle.
Bierweiler noted that such a platform could help agencies derive insights from data located across on-premise infrastructure, public and public cloud environments using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
“An enterprise data cloud provides agencies with a coherent approach to security — irrespective of their deployment preference and infrastructure provider(s) — by maintaining strict enterprise-grade data privacy, governance, data migration and metadata management requirements across all environments where agency data resides,†he added.
