CenturyLink has moved to expand its cloud networking service offering to support enterprise customers on Microsoft Azure and Azure Government cloud platforms.
The Cloud Connect Dynamic Connections service is part of CenturyLink’s Cloud Connect portfolio and is designed to help enterprises connect hybrid cloud environments on-demand through a self-service portal or application programming interface, the company said Monday.
"With this addition of Microsoft Azure, CenturyLink can now directly connect to approximately 70% of the desired destinations for all public cloud market users," said Paul Savill, senior vice president of core network and technology solutions at CenturyLink.
"This gives customers even more flexibility for how they leverage their cloud workloads,†Savill added.
CenturyLink launched the cloud connectivity service in October and uses software-defined networking technology to deliver the service over Metro Ethernet Forum-certified private Carrier Ethernet 2.0 networks.
Cloud Connect Dynamic Connections is available across several locations in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific and supports Amazon Web Services and AWS GovCloud (U.S.) platforms.
