United Launch Alliance offloaded the Atlas V rocket’s booster core at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida for Boeing CST-100 Starliner space capsule’s crewed flight test in August, Spaceflight Insider reported Thursday.
ULA’s Delta Mariner vessel transported the Atlas V core from the firm’s Decatur, Ala. facility last month along with a Delta IV booster core whose offloading is yet to be scheduled.
It also delivered the Vulcan Centaur rocket stage component along with the two cores to be used for the Starliner mission.
The Centaur rocket stage system recently completed operational assessments in the lead-up to its maiden flight scheduled for 2021.
