Boeing has contracted BAE Systems to supply vehicle control and detection systems to operate the former“™s MQ-25 aerial refueling drone for the U.S. Navy.
BAE will provide the Vehicle Management Control and Identification Friend or Foe systems to support
Boeing“™s contract with the Navy to deliver four initial MQ-25 unmanned aerial systems by 2024, BAE said Monday.
The vehicle management platform enables the user to control the drone“™s overall flight functions while the IFF works to identify both ally and adversary vehicles.
Corin Beck, director of BAE“™s military aircraft systems division, said the company“™s more than 40-year partnership with Boeing has resulted in the delivery of the former“™s high-integrity fly-by-wire, IFF and other modernized avionics products.
