Amazon Web Services has collaborated with Earth Science Information Partners to support the integration of emerging technology platforms for geospatial research and experimentation activities.
AWS said Thursday it provides funds to the nonprofit organization through the AWS Cloud Credits for Research Program to support the ESIP Lab’s machine learning-driven development efforts and Earth science data mangement in line with industry best practices.
ESIP adopted Amazon platforms such as the Elastic Compute Cloud, Simple Storage Service and Machine Image to process Earth imagery data in real time about various subject areas that include climate change and snow hydrology.
The nonprofit works with public and private sector entities to develop ways of improving the collection, storage and analysis of data portfolios related to geospatial observation.
