Avaya has partnered with 911 Secure and RapidSOS to offer device location discovery features to emergency first responders to improve their situational awareness in critical situations.
Avaya said Wednesday the partnership will allow the IX Workplace communications tool to transmit emergency data to public safety agencies through 911 Secure’s SENTRY platform.
RapidSOS will also integrate its Clearinghouse offering to IX Workplace to help users provide user location data in real time from a commercial network.
In addition, IX Workplace may allow rapid delivery of mass voice and text notifications via the Cloud Notification System, for situations that require weather alerts and other information to be sent to multiple people at once.
“Sophisticated data from Avaya displayed directly on the screens of 9-1-1 telecommunicators will enhance situational awareness for emergency services, providing safety and security for Avaya customers,†said Jeff Robertson, senior vice president and general manager of public safety at RapidSOS.
RapidSOS has collaborated with Internet of Things and public safety organizations to provide security services while 911 Secure offers optimized routing efforts to 911 call centers.
