Air Force Life Cycle Management Center calls for small businesses to propose technologies for simulation training programs that will enable capabilities such as weather effects, harsh environments and use of artificial intelligence and the cloud.

Selected contractors will perform work in two phases under the Small Business Innovation Research Program, and receive invitations to present at the Simulators Pitch Day that will take place Dec. 4 in Orlando, Fla., the U.S. Air Force said Friday.

Other topics of interest include simulator interoperability, performance-based training and analysis, maintenance training time reduction and long range visual fidelity in simulations.

Margaret Merkle, program manager in AFLCMC’s simulators division, said the center seeks existing technologies.

“We are not asking small business to go out and invent something new,” she said. “We are asking if they have technology that we can leverage for the Air Force.”

Interested firms may submit responses through July 1.
