ACS has completed the modernization of a test facility for Sierra Nevada Corp.'s Vortex rocket engine in North Freedom, Wis.
The design-build project at Badger Army Ammunition Depot began in 2015 and included the modification of engine testing equipment and engineering controls as well as the construction of a new test cell, ACS said Thursday.
ACS coordinated with over 40 Wisconsin-based procurement, design and construction companies to complete the project.
On May 29, SNC test-fired the Vortex engine at the depot and the event was open to the public. The rocket is available to NASA and other public and private sector entities.
ACS is a construction and engineering solutions company that has been working with the aerospace, aviation and manufacturing industries for 25 years.
Sparks, Nev.-based SNC also offers aircraft modification, space exploration and electronics warfare services.
