The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Accenture Federal Services a spot on a potential five-year, $49 million indefinite/delivery-indefinite/quantity contract to provide intelligent automation and artificial intelligence (IAAI) services for HHS’ Program Support Center (PSC).

Accenture Federal Services said Wednesday it will compete for task orders for piloting, testing and implementation of advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, natural language processing and robotic process automation. The company will also provide HHS’ PSC with a range of next-generation technologies, enabling the Department to transform business processes and enhance mission delivery in the federal government.

“It’s a great honor to be selected by the HHS Program Support Center to provide breakthrough solutions that meet the Departments’ emerging technology needs under the IAAI contract,” said Greg Adler, who leads Accenture Federal Services’ work across Health and Human Services.

“AFS draws upon Accenture’s vast commercial experience in AI and health to identify and implement new capabilities that support the Departments’ goals to fundamentally transform, enhance and deliver public sector healthcare, Adler continued.”

In an effort to accelerate PSC’s modernization priorities, AFS will leverage the newly expanded Accenture Federal Digital Studio, a collaborative environment where AFS professionals use the ground-breaking service design principles of Fjord, Accenture Interactive’s design and innovation unit, to help clients across all sectors of the federal government create citizen-and user-centric solutions. Among the capabilities of the Digital Studio are:

  • The Discovery Lab, a FedRAMP certified platform as a service that brings together leading data science and modeling capabilities to help government solves its most intractable challenges.
  • The AI Innovation Hub, which allows clients to see how a mix of AI capabilities can be used to advance what’s possible and drive business breakthroughs.
