Zoom Video Communications has received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification for a technology platform designed to help government customers manage video conference meetings.
The company said Tuesday Zoom for Government is based on Amazon Web Services’ GovCloud and has features that support collaborative tasks as well as the development of platform-compatible applications designed for specific agencies.
The Department of Homeland Security-sponsored authorization will allow both agencies and contractors to deploy the Zoom technology in efforts to simplify and unify communications throughout an organization.
“Video is a catalyst to collaboration amongst teams and an accelerant to digital transformation – benefits you just cannot get from an email, chat, or audio conference,†said Harry Moseley, chief information officer for Zoom.
Zoom for Government is available for purchase on the General Services Administartion’s IT Schedule 70 vehicle.
