The University of Hawaii Applied Research Laboratory has been awarded a potential five-year, $77.2M contract for research, development, test, evaluation and engineering services to the Department of Defense.

The lab also received an $777,710 initial delivery order as part of the cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, DoD said Monday.

Work will take place in Manoa, Hawaii, through May 2024.

Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting activity and awarded the contract in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c) (3) under the Federal Acquisition Regulation.

University of Hawaii administers the Navy-funded research center to conduct studies for the U.S. government in areas such as astronomy, remote sensing and information technology.
