Mark Carter, chief operating officer of TechFlow since August 2016, has been promoted to president of the San Diego-based technology services provider.

He helped drive TechFlow's operations and government business pursuits, including a potential $967.9M contract to help the Transportation Security Administration explosive detection systems, the company said Monday.

“This new role as president widens his aperture in terms of responsibility and recognizes what he has accomplished as well as the positive impact he consistently has on our company and our customers,” TechFlow CEO Robert Baum said.

Carter's more than 20-year government consulting experience has included senior executive roles at Leidos and Science Applications International Corp.
