Northrop Grumman and Sierra Nevada Corp. will jointly bid for task orders to develop integrated technology platforms for potential use in U.S. Army cyber electromagnetic activities via a potential $981M multiple-award contract vehicle.
The two companies have partnered to help the service branch create tactical systems in non-kinetic cyber, signals and electronic warfare areas under the Army’s R4 contract, SNC said Thursday.
Northrop won an initial task order to provide a capabilities white paper.
Tim Owings, executive vice president of SNC’s integrated mission systems business, said the partnership seeks to equip warfighters with CEMA capabilities for battlefield missions.
Owings added he expects the firm’s manned and unmanned platforms to support military operations in the coming years.
The SNC IMS group conducts engineering, development, integration, modification and deployment of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
