Science Applications International Corp. will support the U.S. Air Force’s research and development efforts related to optical radiation under a potential six-year, $58.5M contract.
The service branch awarded the contract to Engility, which became part of SAIC earlier this year through a $2.5B merger.
The company will help the Air Force Research Laboratory develop systems to protect airmen’s physical, psychological and physiological well-being against optical hazards, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
AFRLÂ received two offers for the R&D project and will obligate nearly $6MÂ in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
Work will take place at Fort Sam Houston in Texas through April 30, 2025.
