Peraton will provide range instrumentation systems to support test and evaluation operations of the U.S. Navy's Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division under a potential five-year, $33M contract.

The company said Tuesday it will develop telemetry, communications, radar, power, weather, infrared, electro-optical and range safety platforms for possible use in hypersonic vehicle testing.

Contract work also includes collecting test data and providing terrestrial and satellite communications to flight tests and technology demonstrations by the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

“Our Huntsville-based team of range system engineers, test planners, flight safety experts and cybersecurity professionals have established themselves as a vital component of U.S. hypersonics T&E infrastructure,” said Reggie Brothers, chief technology officer of Peraton.

The contract builds on Peraton’s range instrumentation portfolio focused on broad ocean area testing as well as the company’s open ocean and unmanned aerial vehicle-based range support for NASA and U.S. Air Force customers.
