Peraton has received a five-year, $14.9M contract to operate and maintain equipment for Defense Satellite Communications System and other military and defense satellites for the U.S. Army's 59th Signal Battalion at Fort Greely, Alaska.
The company said Monday it will perform these services as part of their Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Secure Communications Operations and Maintenance (SCOM) contract with the U.S. Army.
Work under the defense contract will help the Missile Defense Agency provide end-to-end communications to military and intelligence units, including U.S Army Network Enterprise Technology Command.
The new contract continues support services that Peraton has been providing to the military since 2009, said Roger Mason, president of Peraton’s space, intelligence and cyber sector.
