The General Services Administration selected the Office of Personnel Management as the third agency that will undergo information technology modernization as part of the former's Centers of Excellence program, Washington Business Journal reported Wednesday.

GSA said in a prior announcement that it will assist in technical matters and provide consulting support to OPM as part of the initiative which also covers modernization efforts for the departments of Agriculture and Housing and Urban Development.

Agencies can pick multiple firms for COE agreements that run for up to three years and have a potential value of over $100M.

Science Applications International Corp. is providing IT capacity expansion, visualization and data analytics services to USDA as part of a three-year COE contract awarded in September of last year.

The COE program also tasked other defense firms such as Deloitte, Booz Allen Hamilton and Accenture’s federal services arm to support previous efforts.
