Northrop Grumman has received a $65.2M contract to obtain long-lead components needed for the low-rate initial production oflLot 5 M-4C Triton unmanned aircraft systems for the U.S. Navy and Australian government.

The company will acquire materials it will need to build three Triton drones along with ground stations under the advance acquisition contract, the Department of Defense said Wednesday. 

Work is scheduled to occur through June 2020.

The Navy agreed to provide $38.25M for its purchases and Australia allocated $26.9M for its orders.

Naval Air Systems Command is the contracting activity and will use fiscal 2019 aircraft procurement and cooperative partner funds to cover the full obligated amount.
