Microsoft and the Department of Veterans Affairs have partnered to provide rural veterans with access to the internet to use telehealth services, receive educational opportunities, secure jobs and grow their businesses.
In addition to providing the necessary finances for the endeavor and coordinating with the country’s internet service provider partners to make it possible, Microsoft’s technological expertise will also be at VA’s disposal, Shelley McKinley, head of technology and corporate responsibility at Microsoft, wrote in a blog posted Wednesday.
Together, they aim to help the country's 2.7M rural veterans digitally access VA's services and improve their standard of living, building on a Microsoft-VA partnership of over 20 years.
