ManTech International and Purdue University Global have teamed up to offer an apprenticeship program that aims to further build up employees’ cyber capabilities and establish a trained cybersecurity workforce.

The Cybersecurity Registered Apprenticeship program will also fund college-level instruction to develop a pipeline of cyber professionals in support of the country’s security requirements, ManTech said Friday.

“As our customers pursue IT transformation and modernization, they can rely on ManTech people with proven expertise in cyber that takes digital to the tactical edge – ensuring mission success, peak performance of new virtual systems, and end-to-end cybersecurity,” said Kevin Phillips, ManTech president and CEO and a 2019 Wash100 winner.

ManTech will identify, assess and recruit apprentices who can help meet contract requirements for national security roles as well as finance cybersecurity-related academic and technical training through the program, which is registered with the Department of Labor as a cybersecurity support technician initiative.

ManTech and Purdue Global also launched a cloud computing degree program for employees in October.
