Leidos has developed an artificial intelligence-based analytics tool that works to help users analyze big data from multiple sources, including social media, software and systems, National Defense Magazine reported Thursday.
The company unveiled the Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning Microservices Platform during the Special Operations Force Industry Conference in Tampa, Fla.
Prior to the public launch, Leidos said an intelligence community customer spent six months using the tool to explore terabytes of data gathered from different devices.
“We have enabled our customers to discover the previously undiscoverable data and get directly to that mission-relevant content,†said Christine Harney, data systems engineer in the surveillance and reconnaissance group at Leidos.Â
The intelligence community currently faces challenges in analyzing big data due to lack of analysts to review massive information stored on separate software systems, Harney added.
Matt Reardon, director of operational analytics at Leidos innovation center, said the company plans to modify the tool to integrate sensitive-site exploitation data with information from open sources, signals intelligence and human intelligence.
