Kratos Defense and Raytheon have provided missiles during NATO’s Formidable Shield 2019 military exercise that aimed to help member nations enhance interoperability in air and missile defense.

The event at the U.K. Ministry of Defense’s Hebrides Range in Scotland involved live-fire and simulated missile engagements with Raytheon’s Standard Missile-3, Standard Missile-2 and Evolved SeaSparrow Missile, the company said Tuesday.

Formidable Shield gathered service members, ships and aircraft from Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

During the exercise, the U.S. Navy’s 6th Fleet along with NATO’s Naval Striking and Support Forces also fired a set of missiles from Kratos’ Space and Missile Defense Systems business unit.

The company said it provided two guided short range ballistic missile targets and conducted the first flight of its new Guided Oriole rocket system integrated with thrust vector control.

Both weapon systems from Raytheon and Kratos were deployed against simulated targets.
