Iron Mountain has secured a potential five-year, $65M blanket purchase agreement to help the Department of Homeland Security store and manage records.

The BPA, which has a one-year base period and four one-year options, will include the retrieval of both paper documents and tapes, Iron Mountain said Thursday.

The company added it will convert DHS files into digital format, move records between the firm’s data centers and agency facilities and apply a unique identifier to archived materials.

“We know from our years of experience with companies all over the world that there are key steps an organization must take to prepare for digital transformation, applying best practices and policies to their information that ensures it is both highly secure and readily available,” said Michael Lewis, vice president and general manager of Iron Mountain's government solutions segment.

Under the BPA, the company will provide services in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration standards.
