GetSAT has received type approval from Inmarsat to deploy rugged satellite communications terminals for use with the Global Xpress broadband network.

Inmarsat said Thursday it approved the MilliSAT-H-GX and MilliSAT-W-GX terminals designed to provide worldwide connectivity for government and commercial ground vehicles.

The miniaturized Ka-band satcom units are designed to comply with size, weight and power requirements.

With the Inmarsat type approval of GetSAT’s terminals, ground and maritime on the move users have access to a very compact terminal to support their critical connectivity requirements,” said Steve Gizinski, chief technology officer of Inmarsat's government business.

Global Xpress supports  across land, air and sea domains.
