GE Lands $80M Contract to Support USAF, Egyptian Fighter Aircraft Engines

General Electric’s aviation business has received a potential five-year, $79.7M contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide aircraft engine support services to the U.S. Air Force and its Egyptian counterpart.

The sole-source, fixed-price requirements contract contains a four-year base period along with a one-year option and covers work on F110-GE-100 engines, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

GE developed F110-GE-100 to increase the performance of F-16 Fighting Falcon jets.

Work will take place in Kansas and Texas through May 2023.

DLA's aviation organization is the contracting activity and will use fiscal 2019 through fiscal 2023 foreign military sales funds for the procurement effort.
