The Department of Homeland Security is seeking potential vendors of cloud-based subscription services that could locate connected devices, including mobile phones and laptops, at any given time.Â
In a request for information issued Monday on FedBizOpps, DHS said it wants to acquire geolocation data subscription services that would support operations of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.Â
The service should help ICE collect geolocation data from providers, applications, Wi-Fi, software development kit, bidstream and beacons, among other sources, and identify locations of electronic devices.
A selected contractor should also analyze and validate the data to remove spoofed signals, duplicate records and inaccurate information before distributing it through an app.Â
DHS said it aims to apply machine learning to support the data analysis and distribution.Â
Interested vendors can submit responses to the RFI through June 17.
