Components of the Department of Homeland Security plan to launch a new research and development funding program in a bid to improve the security of mobile network infrastructures in the United States.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will partner with the Science and Technology Directorate to promote the importance of securing mobile network infrastructures for government communications, DHS said Wednesday.
The agencies will host an industry day on May 16 at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C., to discuss with industry and organizations the plans and requirements for their R&D funding program.Â
Attending officials from CISA and S&T include those from offices that work on cybersecurity, industry partnerships, national risk management, emergency communications and first response.Â
Interested parties can send questions during the industry event prior to submitting project proposals.
