A CAE subsidiary will support rapid prototyping of a common database for the Open Geospatial Consortium under a contract from the U.S. Special Operations Command.

CAE USA Mission Solutions will work on simulation interoperability of the OGC Common Database, designed to collect data from geospatial intelligence, modelling and simulation industries for development of national geospatial standards and interoperable platforms, the company said Wednesday.

Ray Duquette, president and general manager of CAE USA, said the OGC CDB prototype will combine simulation and gaming technologies for interoperable training and mission rehearsal.

Duquette added the company hopes to build the database for wider use to support global Department of Defense operations.
