Cobham has been selected to produce an oxygen system for integration into the trainer aircraft Boeing is building for the U.S. Air Force under a potential $9.2B contract.
The system will consist of pilot breathing regulators, a fill valve-equipped backup and the SureSTREAM concentrator designed to automatically adjust levels of oxygen concentration during flight, Cobham said Thursday.
According to Cobham, the system met T-X Trainer operating requirements under the Advanced Pilot Training Program.
SureSTREAMÂ is designed to comply with MIL-STD-3050 safety standards for aircrew breathing systems.
Cobham plans to use the concentrator as the foundation to develop an automated response guided oxygen system.
