BAE Systems' information and electronic systems business has won a $36.7M contract to develop and demonstrate a dual dand decoy platform for the U.S. Navy.
The company will equip the decoy with multiple technologies and expand systems related to fiber optic and advanced airborne expendable decoys of the F/A-18E/F aircraft, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Military aircrews use AN/ALE-55 and AN/ALE-50 to counter radar-guided missiles as part of integrated defense electronic countermeasures.
The Navy will initially obligate $12M at the time of award from its fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds. Work will take place in Nashua, N.H., through August 2021.
Naval Air Systems Command received three proposals for the firm-fixed-price contract via a competitive procurement.
