BAE Systems-built electronic systems aboard more than 300 satellites have logged a cumulative flight time of 10K orbit-years.

The company said Monday its single board computers helped power satellites over the past three decades and provided onboard processing functions for government and commercial space missions.

According to BAE, the computers work to help a Mars rover collect images and data as well as support guidance, navigation and control functions of satellite systems.

Ricardo Gonzalez, director of space systems at BAE, said that NASA's Juno lander and InSight space probe employ the firm's radiation-hardened electronics.

The company manufactures its space-based electronics at a Department of Defense-accredited facility in Manassas, Va.
