BAE Systems' ship repair business in San Diego has won a $32.3M contract to help the U.S. Navy modernize, repair and maintain a non-self-propelled medium auxiliary floating drydock.

The company will provide facilities and personnel needed to carry out the docking service craft overhaul project over a seven-month period, the Department of Defense said Monday.

The service branch received two offers for the firm-fixed-price contract via a full and open competition that was conducted on West Coast-wide basis.

The Navy will use fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds to cover the full obligated amount.

Contract work is scheduled to run through March 2020.
