Amazon Web Services has partnered with the Louisiana Community and Technical College System and GNO Inc. to introduce a cloud-related learning program to college students and educators throughout the state.

Twelve LCTCS schools intend to use the AWS Educate platform and launch a two-year associate degree in cloud computing as part of efforts to address a demand for professionals who possess skills related to the technology, AWS said Wednesday.

The company added it began integrating AWS content into the LCTCS curriculum to train students and prepare them for entry-level cloud computing jobs.

The Educate initiative also works to assist students aged 14 and older in cloud fundamentals through a series of short courses on AWS for school and home usage.
