Army Solicits Proposals for Missile Defense Sensor Prototype Dev't Contract - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The U.S. Army has issued a request for proposals for novel platforms designed to meet the service’s requirements for the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor program.

A FedBizOpps notice posted Tuesday says the service will use the other transaction authority for the rapid prototyping initiative to award a three-year, firm-fixed-price contract to a single offeror in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The selected vendor will build, test and deploy six LTAMDS prototypes under the contract, which is set to kick off in September and run through September 2022.

Army Contracting Award will award a follow-on contract for the production of up to 16 LTAMDS systems once a prototype is completed.

Proposals are due July 9, according to the notice.
